Sea Pearls for Prolapse can be used a natural alternative to the pessary or surgery. As a less abrasive and invasive support for pelvic organ prolapse, sponges are easy to insert and clean, comfortable, and inexpensive.
Sponges
These Sea Pearls are specifically selected larger sized pearls than our Sea Sponge Tampons providing you the reassurance you need.
Sea Pearls for Prolapse are completely natural reusable sea sponges containing no Dioxin or synthetic fibers. Sustainably harvested and reusable for up to three to six months or more, Sea Pearls are economical, easy to use, and earth friendly.
Size
Upon receiving your sponges, don't be alarmed by the size of these sponges. Once you wet them and squeeze out the excess water, they are very soft and can be squished to a smaller size. Though they may look quite large in the package, this allows the option of trimming them for a more custom fit to your body. If you do feel like they are too big, trim 1/8 of an inch around the perimeter of the sponge or follow the instructions for trimming as specified in the brochure. If they are accidentally trimmed too small you can always use more than one Sea Pearl.
Inserting
Because of the size of these sponges some women need a lubricant to help ease insertion. We recommend using a natural lubricant that will not harm the durability of the sponge. Many women use a natural oil such as olive oil or grapeseed oil. We also sell a Wild Yam Bodacious Body Butter that is pure shea nut butter blended with wild yam essential oil which acts as a natural source of progesterone. It is offered as an add on option for your order.
Cleaning
We get a lot of questions about how to clean Sea Pearls. In the brochure you receive with the Sea Pearls there is a list of methods using items you probably have around the house (baking soda, sea salt, etc.) Our favorite method is using a drop of Tea Tree Oil in warm water. The Tea Tree Oil is a natural antiseptic and will kill any bacteria that may be in your sponge after having it inserted all day. You may also use a natural soap. You should not use soaps such as Dove or Ivory as they will upset the natural ph of your vagina. We also offer both Organic Tea Tree Oil and Bee & Flower Natural Soap as an add on option for your order.
